Pituitary tumors: Hi. Pituitary tumors are fairly commonly found incidentally on head MRI scans done for other reasons (so called "incidentalomas"). The majority of pituitary tumors are non-functioning (don't secrete hormones); most of these are of gonadotropin cell lineage. Prolactin-secreting is most prevalent functioning, followed by ACTH, growth hormone, TSH, then LH/FSH. Also see hemorrhage, granuloma, etc
