A member asked:

What does a tortuous aorta mean? how is it treated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe a warning: A tortuous aorta is one that is not straight( the normal condition ) but does not contain and aneurysm. This may occur normally in older people or those with long standing hypertension. It may also occur in younger people who have abnormal composition of their artery walls. In this circumstance it may be a warning of increased risk of aneurysm in the future .By itself it is of no consequence
