Discuss with surgeon: All wisdom tooth extractions are not the same. If it is very difficult, a substancial amount of effort will be needed to remove the tooth and close the wound. It is sometimes necessary to perform the procedure when the patient is asleep rather than while they are awake. Only your surgeon can give you his/her insight for your specific procedure.

GA: If that still, small voice inside is really against a general anesthetic then refuse and opt for local only. Some dentists are better at local than others (most often the older dentists are better). Just understand that you will have some discomfort,
