BCP Schedule: Birth control pills prevent ovulation by providing enough estrogen / progesterone product to imitate pregnant state and thus suppress FSH LH cycling. It is important to swallow the BCP daily at 24 hr intervals, but if intake is daily but at varying hours, then still ovulation is highly unlikely. So, likelihood of pregnancy is very very low. I agree that home preg testing is prudent.

Yes: 3 days of birth control is not enough to protect from pregnancy. If it was during her time of fertility she could become pregnant.
