Yes: Hi. Without knowing more, and based upon what you've told us, you would lower future risk of an atherosclerotic outcome by going on statin therapy. I have total buy in to preventive medicine, but not everyone does. Studies show that in average Americans the beginnings of atherosclerotic lesions are present by the late teens/early 20's. You're justified in efforts to prevent bad outcomes. Good luck
