A member asked:

Can taking clonazepam .5mg along with atenolol 12.5mg together cause any unwanted interactions?these were prescribed by doctor.

Strictly speaking NO: There are no drug to drug interactions between these 2 medications, however, there is a possibility that blood pressure could be lowered a bit more than expected with just the atenolol by itself and the patient could also become a little more fatigued than by taking either alone.

Discuss w/ Dr.: These can have early treatment side effects of lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. If you can put up w/ this for awhile, it should stop - but mention it to the Dr. so they'll know to watch you carefully or find alternatives. Best!
