Diagnosis: When experiencing vaginal itch it is reasonable to begin with an over the counter yeast cream as you did. But since it is not working you need to see an Obgyn to confirm the diagnosis. If the itching is caused by something other than yeast (herpes, lichen sclerosis) then Monistat or other products will not help.
