Likely normal: variation. There are variations in the menstrual flow, what you described seems to fit in that. You may wish to take oral iron supplements to avoid becoming anemic from the extra blood loss. If the irregularity lasts more than two periods, it would be prudent to see your doctor. If you could get pregnant, please take pre-natal vitamins.
