Depends on who ask: What is typically or appropriately done depends on severity - tbi encompasses everything from mild concussion to tbu with fractures and hematoma. Acutely medical tests are critical, especially if hematoma or increased icp is suspected. Many of these tests are less sensitive than neuropsychological testing at detecting more persisting problems with attention, memory, executive or other functions.
