What are the tests for norwalk virus infections?

RT-PCR of stool: Tests for norovirus are not generally needed as clinical picture, self limited nature of disease and treatment don't require a specific diagnosis. If a diagnosis is required, reverse transcription PCR of stool is rapid and fast. Epidemiologists absolutely need to know who has what to prevent further spread and identify sources so PCR has a role there.
