Pravastatin/grapefru: Grapefruit does not interfere with Pravastatin( Pravochol). Grapefruit does interfere with other statins like Zocor ( (simvastatin), Lipitor( atorvastatin) and lovastatin ( (Mevacor) so you must be exact about which one you are on .

Grapefruit and stati: Generally you should significantly restrict your intake of grapefruit and its juice while taking statins because they reduce the breakdown of the drug and you can get toxicity and more side effects. The effect of ingesting grapefruit lasts the whole day. Statins most affected are Lipitor (atorvastatin) and Zocor. Pravastatin's interaction is thought to be less but caution is still generally advised.
