Get eval: Without any other information and just a statement saying "pain in Left side of chest" my only recourse is telling you to get an evaluation ASAP, to assure it is not your heart.

It depends...: There are many potential causes of chest pain, from musculoskeletal to respiratory to cardiac/heart, among others. Without a complete history & exam, it's impossible to determine the cause of your chest pain. You should make an appointment w/ your primary physician to determine what testing or treatment is needed. IF IT'S NEW CHEST PAIN WITH EXERTION, YOU SHOULD GO TO THE CLOSEST ER IMMEDIATELY

To ER for chest pain: Need to head to the emergency room as fact as possible, especially if also shortness of breath, the pain is like a pressure, radiation to jaw or left arm, sweating, vomiting. Cardiac until proven otherwise.
