Inflammation: There is inflammation of the tonsils from a virus, acid reflux or bacteria most likely. Strep throat is usually a sore throat, fever, headache, stomach pain and sometimes a rash. If you have any of those symptoms you should be checked by a doctor to see if you have strep throat.

Sore throat: Sore throat can be from post nasal drip, allergies or strep/ other infection or reflux. Try elevating head of bed when you sleep, gargling with salt water and seek medical attention from doctor /urgent care. .
