A member asked:

While weightlifting, my shoulder pops and grinds. is this normal?

No, its not normal;: If its not associated with any pain or weakness, it might be due to a Bursitis between your scapula and the ribs, or between other muscles/tendons and ligaments of your shoulder area. Any of these bursae can get inflamed and cause pain. Do see an Orthopod in your area to determine any recognizable cause for your symptoms. Generally none are found and you might never have any issue with it at all.

No.: Popping and grinding are not sounds we want to hear coming out of our joints. Could just be inflammation, but could also be some kind of internal injury. Get it checked out - X-ray, MRI.
