See below: Vital Capacity is total volume of air that you: inhale during normal breathing (Tidal Volume) + when taking a deep breath in (Inspiratory Reserve Volume) + when you breath out as much as your can (Expiratory reserve volume). Total Lung Capacity include all of the above plus volume of air left in the lung even after you breath out complete (Residual Volume).
