Staphylococcus germ: Staphylococcus albus is what is called a "coagulase-negative Staphylococcus"... basically a lab test that distinguishes it from it's MUCH MORE DANGEROUS cousin, Staphylococcus aureus. Staph is the shortened name - as you might have heard for 'Staph infections'.
