A member asked:

Are there advantages to being a carrier of genes for alzheimer's?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: By and large, it could be counterintuitive to link a carrier of genes of a serious illness to be an advantage. On the other hand, not everyone carrying the genes will develop this disorder. At the same time, there are new discoveries, and more to come to resolve the onset of dementia. By the same token, there is a significant amount of literature geared to prevention.
