As expected: You stop doing ovulation kits after it turns positive because it will stay positive for awhile. If you are having regular periods and your ovulation tests show you are ovulating there is simply no value or utility in repeating them. Once you get a positive result then stop checking for that cycle. The hormone it detects lingers.
