I haven't ever had sex before and im not planning to any time soon but i was wondering what 'the pill' is and why do some people use it for periods?

"The Pill": Oral contraceptives ("The Pill") are a mixture of hormones (estrogen and progesterone) in different amounts that essentially trick your body into either not ovulating, tricking it into thinking it is pregnant, keeping the lining of the uterus unfavorable for pregnancy, etc. In quite a few people, these pills can prevent periods entirely. If you have painful periods, this is a benefit. Good luck.
