No: Green tea has no ill heart effects and is generally thought of as a "healthy" tea. Tea does contain caffeine that can speed your heart rate up if you drink large quantities.

Good for the heart: The leaves contain antioxidant polyphenols. Studies show that polyphenols in green tea have anti-carcinogenic effect & lead to a reduced heart disease death rate.
