Not next day...: Generally it is advised to take the pregnancy test when you have missed your period. This is because you need a certain concentration of the pregnancy hormone to be present in your urine for the test to be accurate. The day after having sex, you are likely not actually pregnant yet as the sperm has to meet the egg and then implant - which takes a couple of days.

Pregnancy test: Two main types of pregnancy tests can let you know if you're pregnant: urine tests and blood tests. Urine tests can be done at home or in a doctor's office.
