Wait and see: Post-concussion syndrome can include headache, blurry vision, memory troubles, and nausea. Usually it will go away within a few days. See your doctor if these symptoms persist for more than a week. Avoid any contact sport or any potential head injury for at least a week after your symptoms have completely resolved. Go to the ER if you have persistent vomiting or decreased level of consciousness.

ER: you must always be evaluated for a concussion. Insurance is not an issue- your life is: most hospitals will be happy to discount a cash visit or place you on a payment plan.

Need exam: Irregardless of insurance, you need to be examined for a concussion, etc. Do not let insurance dictate your medical care. Your local government representative may help you regarding that, the local hospital can often help you through their social service programs to apply for assistance as well. Best wishes.

See a doctor.: You need to be seen and examined by a doctor. If you go to your local ER, if you don't have insurance, they should still see you on an urgent basis. If you have a doctor whom you see for well visits, call them for advice, a visit or a referral. You may have a concussion which will resolve on its own, but you need to be seen to rule out an even more serious head injury such as bleeding.

There is a wealth of information in the internet to help you to sort out the severity of symptoms. It is critical that you avoid secondary head trauma which can be devastating.

If your mom is not : aware that federal law now mandates medical insurance, show her https://www.healthcare.gov/fees-exemptions/fee-for-not-being-covered/ & http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/missouri-health-insurance. If you had a head injury, with or without loss of consciousness you could've had a concussion & now a post-concussion syndrome. See your school nurse for referral to free or low-cost medical care.
