Unsure from descript: I am unsure what type of infection you are experiencing. Your doctor may want to culture the bacteria to make sure it is not a Staph infection which may require more aggressive treatment (with antibiotics) and body wash with chlorhexidine soap to try to remove the bacteria from your skin. It could be ingrown hairs or small abscesses from shaving. You may want to see a dermatologist.
