Ask your doc: If it was your physician who recommended that you wean from the medication then it should be your physician to tell you exactly how to do that but if you are making that decision on your own I would recommend speaking with the prescriber first.

Possibly: Zoloft (sertraline) can be used to treat ocd. 50-200 mgs daily is the recommended dosing. Some may require more. Can take up to 12 weeks to see the full effect. Always discuss dosing with the prescribing phsyician and remember cbt for OCD is extremely helpful alone or in combination with medications such as zoloft (sertraline).

Decreased sertraline 50 mg to 25 mg for a week then discontinued last night, will I have side effects?

Dr. Farbod Farmand

Maybe: For long-term treated patients, wfsbp guidelines recommend tapering over 4-6 months. If intolerable withdrawal symptoms occur following a dose reduction, consider resuming the previously prescribed dose and/or decrease dose at a more gradual rate. Side effects are too many to list. Be sure to monitor for any abnormal behavior, thoughts or symptoms.
