Pregnancy: It would be ill-advised to give you an answer based solely on the statement you provided. Once you get a quantitative blood test and an ultrasound showing that you are 8-9 weeks, I would say that you conceived in August.

Most likely 8/27: If the first day of your last menstrual period was around 8/9, you probably conceived when you had intercourse on 8/27. The only way to be certain would be to get an early U/S (7-8 weeks). An early ultrasound is very accurate (+/- 4 days) and can help you figure out when you became pregnant. Second trimester ultrasound is +/- 2 weeks so not helpful for your question. Best wishes!
