Get checked: It sounds like you have an infection. You need to get checked, especially since you have the Mirena (levonorgestrel) in place. The IUD does not increase your risk of getting an infection, but if you get one, it can be worse. The IUD does NOT need to be removed, but any infection should be treated aggressively.
