Go see ur family doc: High blood pressure is not a good thing. 1st make sure BP cuff is accurate. In other words, bring your BP record & cuff to next visit. Ask nurse to check BP w/their cuff and then yours w/o changing position (don't stand up in between). Check out DASH diet as evidence-based means to lower BP. Chat w/doc to consider other causes then drugs options to lower risk for stroke, kidney & heart failure

Mutiple factors: Stress, tension, anxiety, caffeine, nicotine, stimulants, drugs, decongestants, thyroid or metabolic dysfunction are all possibilities. Start by eliminate caffeine ( including sodas) coffee and cold medications. Certainly see your physician for follow up.

Keep 2 wk bp record: Hypertension is a major risk factor for heart attacks & strokes. Keep home bp record 3x/day for 2 weeks. Schedule appt with MD to review. Go to www.dashdiet.org and www.nih.gov for excellent info re: prevention & treatment of hypertension. If systolic bp averages>138 and/or diastolic bp averages>89, you have Hypertension and need treatment. If smoke, stop smoking, no added salt cooking&meals
