A member asked:

What is the ca 15-3 test for and who should have it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breast cancer: Ca 15-3 is one of the cancer markers that is useful following the course of the tumor, i.e., in a patient with breast cancer and elevated levels of 15-3, the blood levels reflect tumor mass and allow the doctor to monitor the course of the tumor. It is not useful for cancer screening.
