A member asked:

Is it possible to accidentally transfer my genital herpes to my eyes, nose or mouth?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Herpes: Yes....Herpes virus can grow around and on the eye. Herpes infections of the cornea may result in corneal scarring and severe vision loss. Corneal infections of the eyelids may also cause scarring on the face and around the eye. Herpes infections inside the eye may cause death of parts of the retina, resulting in vision loss (ARN).
