Many reasons: There are many reasons for a period to be late, unfortunately too many to investigate fully here. Please be aware that although you cannot get pregnant through anal sex, this is still a very high risk activity with regards to sexually transmitted infections, and you and your partner must be careful to use protection every time.

Hormonal imbalance: As you have been advised, you need to be mindful or sexually transmitted diseases even with anal sex. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. Since you missed more than two periods, it would be prudent to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
