Dark period blood: Dark discharge at day six of your period may be just "old blood", which when oxidized will appear black or like "coffee grounds". This can be due to a clot blocking the release of blood from the womb partially, and allowing the normal red color to turn dark over time. It is probably normal, but see your healthcare provider if it continues.
