It's called Valsalva: You're probably holding your breath while lifting the weight. This causes your blood pressure to go dramatically up while your cardiac output decreases, and this is probably causing your headache. Every weight lifter knows to exhale while lifting, precisely to avoid problems like this. You can pass out or worse by doing this, so always remember to exhale when you lift something heavy.
