Two prong approach: First you should see your primary care doctor or an ENT specialist to get medical assurance that there is no physical problem . then you should see a psychiatrist or a another psychotherapist who treats psychosomatic problems. The outlook should be very good for improvement of this symptom

Probably caused by a: This is usually best treated with a proton pump inhibitor (Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium (esomeprazole) ) for 3 or 4 weeks. May need to be taken twice a day.
