Severity: There is suggestion that Ebola can be transmitted via air and thus it is a much more serious problem than HIV or Hepatitis B or C (for which there are effective treatments). It is my understanding that the number of viral particles in a speck of fluid is many millions higher than with HIV. Given that Ebola kills 50% of those infected, it is better to err on the side of caution.
