No, you should not: Dental radiographs are taken with a very low diagnostic dose. Lead shields are also used to protect the rest of your midsection and neck from scatter. The benefits of a healthy mouth far, far outweigh the infinitesimally small risks. All the best...

Definitely no: When all standard safety precautions are taken, dental X-rays are very safe with minimal radiation and maximum resolution. Today's X-ray equipment is able to eliminate unnecessary radiation. Dental x-rays are necessary for a proper diagnosis prior and during the dental treatment.
