hurts to bend wrist towards thumb, & can't move it far. due to de quervain's, pinched nerves, or something else? what are the signs to go to dr?

Persistent?: If it doesn't improve in 2 weeks with OTC pain meds and immobilization, go to see your doctor or an orthopedist. Look at the medical supply store for a 'thumb-spica' splint that's velcro and can come off and on. It may help. De Quervain's is a real possibility.
