Starting birth contr: I was trained that you started oral contraception on the Sunday after the start of your menses or period - thus you would not tend to get your period on a weekend. Ideally you would start on the first day to assure yourself you aren't pregnant. Also starting then eliminates the possiblity of hormonal overlap with your bodies levels. where in the cycle are you?
