Feeling gassy: Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks). Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut.

Air swallowing: the commonest cause of gas is swallowing air. The other things mentioned are certainly possible but less so. Try and pay attention to what and HOW you are eating and swallowing. For instance sucking on candy or eating items that require lots of chewing and multiple swallows put more gas into you, also eating rapidly, pay attention to your swallows
