Lymph nodes vs ribs: It would be important to make sure your lymph nodes are not inflamed as this could be an indicator of a medical issues. If medically there is no concern of illness then pain in the ribs under the armpit is most often due to a mal alignment issue of the ribs causing irritation of the muscles and nerves between the ribs. The surrounding tissue also gets inflamed and causes symptoms.
