Less Than 300ng/dL : 1) a healthy 40 y/o male is expected to have a total testosterone level between 450-900 ng/dl {mean of 667 ng/dl}. 2) the consensus of the endocrine society states that 300 ng/dl is the cut-off for the diagnosis of hypogonadism {assuming there are no other associated lab abnormalities} 3} i recommend you seek the advice and continue your workup with an endocrinologist.
