Prostatitis : If no allergy, you doctor may try to prescribe penicillin derived antibiotics, like cephalosporins, but in general these drug showed very poor prostate penetration. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) or levaquin pretty good as long as bacteria shows susceptibility to it on culture results. Sulfa drugs can also try. You need to take antibiotics for minimum 4 weeks though to eradicate the infection in prostate.
