Water brash: What you are describing is sometimes called "water brash" which is classically associated with gastroesophageal reflux. Common causes of reflux are NSAID medications, spicy food, alcohol and chocolate. Sometimes, heartburn medications such as anti-histamines and proton pump inhibitors may treat the symptoms of reflux.
