Rest 6-8 weeks: As a neurologist, I generally have a policy that strongly prohibits any medical procedure which is invasive or could potentially require the use of anesthesia of any sort in stroke patients who had their event less than 6 to 8 weeks prior. Life-and-death procedures are different so in those instances risks must be weighed against benefits.
