A member asked:

Hypotyreos. how to check if i reverse t3 (liothyronine)? which test shows that? and how to treat it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

TSH-Test for Thryoid: The best test for thryoid function, whether looking for low thryoid (hypothyroidism) or high thryoid( hyperthyroidism) is the TSH test. Very accurate, normal should be 0.5 to 4.0 in most labs. Values above 4.0 indicate low thryoid function, faleues below 0.5 indicate too much thryoid. T3 (liothyronine) andT4 tests are not as accurate and influenced by drugs and other hormone.s
