Antipsychotic med: The best answer will come from the Psychiatrist who is treating you...please ask him or her why you are being prescribed this. In my practice, with my patients, I don't generally prescribe Haldol (haloperidol) any more, because although it is very effective and inexpensive, it has annoying side effects. It's usually used for treatment of psychosis or tics.

A/W Dr. Koenigsberg: It is most often used for psychotic disorders & tics. It is in an older class of antipsychotics and thus is not used this often. Please sit down and discuss this with your prescribing provider.
