A member asked:

Are acidophilus chews supposed to give you diarrhea?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not typically: Acidophilus chews are known to cause harmless effects like hiccups, excess gas and belching. Diarrhea, while uncommon, should be minimal. If you experience any of the following side effects : Rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, difficulty breathing, weakness, nausea or vomiting notify your doctor or go to the ER right away.
