Estrogen in migrains: Oral contraceptives and other hormonal contraceptives make you more prone to develop migraines. Low dose estrogen formulations are better tolerated but there is no "contraindication" but just a recommendation. In my practice I recommend not to use hormonal contraceptives in uncontrolled migraine patients and use barrier methods of contraception.
