I started 15mg of remeron (mirtazapine) last night and am extremely groggy and i am also extremely jumpy, irritable, and i frighten easily. r these all normal?

Remeron (mirtazapine): can be quite sedating. Agitation, anxiety, anger, depersonalization, hallucinations , mood swings, and excitability are potential side effects.

Normal?: They may be common side effects, but I'd understand if you decided they were as bad or worse than the original problem and wanted to have your provider find an alternative w/ less or no side effects. Definitely let them know ASAP since tapering may be needed. Don't stop on your own - w/drawal can be an issue too. Have a good psych eval for a DX and possible therapy to address some or all symptoms.
