How can people with esophageal cancer participate in clinical trials?

Ask your doctor: See your doctor (e.g. Gastroenterologist or oncologist) about participating in clinical trials for any cancer, including esophageal. He/she will evaluate you for any available trials. You can also look up clinicaltrials.Gov for many recent, ongoing, and upcoming trials (though not all).

Ask your doctor: Your surgeon may know of clinical trials. More clinical trials may be offered at a high volume, academic medical center and/or national cancer institute designated site. For more info: http://www.Ucdmc.Ucdavis.Edu/clinicaltrials/.

Ask your oncologist: Your medical or radiation oncologist should know or be able to find out about any clinical trials that a patient might be eligible for. Nci designated cancer centers will have access to local and national trials as well.
