Baby gas: Very common for babies to pass gas, but if he seems to be in a lot of pain, then he should be checked out by his doctor. He can potentially be allergic to the breastmilk/formula, he might be constipated or if he doesn't burp well then that might exacerbate these symptoms. You can try infant gas drops to see if it helps.

See his pediatrician: While it is normal for babies to strain a bit with gas or stools, your baby seems to be having more than expected discomfort and excess gas. I recommend you have his pediatrician check him,
